I'm glad you didn't waste your time doing a SEARCH as you would have quickly found out that your are the first person ever to try something like this.  ::)

Ok Tim, lets cut the youngster some slack now.

If he could spell “straightâ€?, then he might have stumbled onto the Topic: Heather's Finally Going Straight! (axle) http://www.zukiworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=4052.0 posting that is cleverly hidden in the Build Diaries, How-To, DIY forum.

It’s not yet known to mere mortals that we have our top scientist feverishly working on hiding this valuable information.

The secret to the deception is we fit all of it, I mean ALL of it, behind that tiny little button labeled “SEARCH.

Rest assured that alien technology is somehow involved.
Besides, I saw it on TV once, so it must be true.

Be very carefully NOT to tell folks that there is a "Spell Check" button at the bottom of every Post reply window, like the one I'm using to reply to this post.  Spelling words correctly makes it easier for others to find information. We don't want this.

We do want to see samuri, or smauira, or alel, or axel or all the other variations.

Ignorance is bliss

 ;)

Don.

Don, have you used the search bar and searched "solid axle swap" or "straight axle swap"? I did when I was looking for the same info and didn't really find anything. I think what the guy is looking for is some pics, a parts list, and maybe some advice on how difficult it may or may not be. Instead he gets nothing but a rass of s|removethispart|@#$ from you. People like you make people like me stay on ZU and ZK and away from this forum. Next time why not try giving some helpful advice if you have done a SAS or not commenting at all!

Just so everyone is aware...
As odd as you guys may find to go from coil to leaf, there is a company with a kit in the works....

:police:I have noticed more and more "use the search" references lately and I remember that it wasn't always like this. Yes it can get old seeing the same questions over and over, and think about it, do you see this ever changing? No matter how many times a question is answered, it will still be asked again by someone else. Telling people to "use the search button" doesn't help them at that point in time, doesn't relate directly to the topic at hand and doesn't do anything but make the entire message board seem less friendly and less willing to help people out. Have you been to some other 4x4 boards? There are several that you need extremely thick skin to survive. I like to think that ZW is not like that, I like to think that we are friendly and helpful to all, even the newer members.

Rather than responding negatively and making the entire board appear uninviting, do what I do:
If you don't have direct knowledge of the question and/or are annoyed by a repeat question, just don't reply. Let someone that knows the answer reply and the entire board will look more inviting and friendly. Remember the old adage: if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything! :police:

MaD.72: I have seen 4 door kicks with leaf springs before, Heather's rig is a great example, but I haven't seen any 2 door ones, I don't think. I can't recall any at least. It's probably easier to set up a leaf spring style front end than a coil spring. I think one of the more difficult parts of it will be finding an appropriate solid front axle to start with. I wish I could be more help, but looking up Heather's 4 door project will give you a good idea of what's involved.
Had a cool sig pic till I changed the text... sigh...

Wow, I didn't know this was a Girl Scout meeting, since there's sooo many bunched up panties in the room. :P

Since I started the razz, I'll be the first to say, "Lighten up".  Occasional ball busting, if done is good humor, is fun and healthy.  Maybe, just maybe, in this case it poked the poster into refining his search skills (prolly not).  Using the word "AND" between search parameters does wonders (and yeilds a thread on using Jeep axles rather than Toys to boot).  Funny thing is, Don is the only guy who pointed the poster in the direction he was looking for, and HE got his azz handed to him (or at least the attempt was unsuccessfully made)

If this has become a board were we all mind our Pints and Quarts, then I'm going to take my toys and go home. :sleepy:  Boring!

Now, are there quite a few Kickers with YJs?  Yes.  Are pics on this board and others?  Yes.  Should one exhaust all search attempts to find useful info first?  Sure.  Will we see a dozen more posts this year asking "How big of a tire can I fit on my stock [insert any Zook 4x4 here]?"  ABSOLUTELY!

Frankly, filling up the BBS's with mundane repeated post is the FASTEST way to make a board useless, and I can tell you from experience, it'll chase very good "old timers" with a lot of great tech and history OFF a board.  I belong a Zook board that is for those that want to share high-level tech and not be bothered by a flood of posts asking "what size tire?", "how do I change my oil filter?" or "Is RRO a good vendor?".  To get on this board, you have to be invited and have something to contribute, and Google won't find find it so don't ask.  Why is there such a board?  This thread answers that question.

So everyone, take a step back, pull the underroos out of the crouch, and have fun.  A little razzing isn't a bad thing. ;)

Well dang Tim, sorry to see ya leave.
yes, We do mind our Ps & Qs here..
That's why it's such a good place to be..
everything positive, NOTHING negative..
And everything else goes in the WaterCooler. Best place Ever.
(no other site I go to has one and is run by an over-Zellis OverLords)
Razzing ain't bad if you come back with a proper answer.
And Digger hit the nail on the head..
That's probably why I'm so quite at work
