Larger Master Cylinder that fits TRACKERS
« on: January 30, 2009, 05:51:51 PM »
Better brakes are always a good thing and with the 33X12.50's and all the extra armor, in my case they're a necessity. I'm puttin' together the parts for a rear disc brake conversion, goin with Nissan 300 ZX calipers but which master cylinder to use eludes me. Ack's facts had a link that suggested that Subaru Imprezza's bolt right on Sammies. Will they bolt on similarly to a 93 Tracker? What about Mazda 929's MC?

Have a look round a junkyard. A lot of Jap cars have Nissin brakes, you will want a disc/disc master cylinder.

Maybe a Trackick 4 door master cylinder? I know their a bit more powerful, and slightly bigger bore. Got one waiting to go in mine soon.

the post I read said the subaru MC was a direct bolt on to a Sammy, does that mean it'll do the same to a Tracker? It had a 1 1/16" bore.

I'm currently fitting one to a SJ410 and it has a different bolt pattern to the one I pulled out but the Kick may be the same as the Subaru.

This doesn't look right for a Kick. I thought the Nissin m/c had the mounting holes at an angle (I have Lucas brakes!)

x2

Depends on the context. An internet forum (where people are lovers of Japanese vehicles, I would think "Jap" is just short-hand for "Japanese". "Jap" is only used as a derigitory terms by people who were old enough to remember WWII.

The brakes are Lucas Girling. I'm not sure about the headlights, possibly not they're 12V  ;D. I'm looking to fit the Nissin servo from a SWB to mine so I can use the LWB master cylinder. I have the LWB brakes front and back and I now get too much pedal travel, I know that the LWB servo is far to big. Thats why I queried the bolt pattern. I have the servo but haven't taken it out of the box yet, its snowing here and I don't have a garage that the Zuk fits in.
Hmm, time for a cuppa.

Now I guess that's racist. Sorry, let me translate: Will Tracker and Sammy MC's interchange?
