wHAT WE ARE working with here is a 1986 samuri that seemingly needs a new transmission. O r so the mechanis said, and it gonna cost 1500 dollars, which I dont have now. So i am wondering if maybe I could find a wrecked toyota and have them put the tranny off that in my samurai? maybe not even close. but this is to be my daily driver and dont really do much off-roading. also there is a guy who has a transmission he will sell me for 100 bucks but there is no way of telling if it will work! And i dont know how muck work it would be to try and install it myself or cost to have it installed in a yard. Waht I really need is some one who can just tell me what to do. I wish i was still in high school so I could ask my auto shop teacher. Any suggestions
