1982 SJ410
« on: October 01, 2012, 10:38:40 PM »
I just bought a 1982 Suzuki SJ410, and it need's a few things. to get it trail worthy. Door glass run so I can get the window operational. Carb kit, Wiper Motor. I'm new to this and would like to know what other models (Samuri Sidekick) might have parts that will fit the old SJ410, as I'm having trouble finding parts. Thanks for sharing your Info

Welcome to the Suzuki World!

Most of the drivetrain parts will not swap directly over between the Samurai/SJ410.  That is, without some torch/grinder/welding mods.  However, I'm pretty sure that the wiper motor from a Samurai will work with your SJ410.  I would first verify that the motor is actually getting power though.  If it is just moving slow...well they all do that.

I would contact Trail Tough (trailtough.com) for your carb SJ410 parts.  They recently purchased a large stash of old SJ410 parts so they should be able to help you.  You might also be able to get the parts from your Canadian dealer.

Thanks Jonny
I am an out doors kind of guy, hunting and fishing, and I'm hoping the Suzuki will get me there.
The wiper motor works slow like you said. Is that normal ? looks, sounds like its going to stall.
Any thoughts on the window guides. Where I might find new or if other models will be the same I have another old door but they are rotten as well.

This sounds like a hardtop aka a tintop in Samurai circles.  The doors should be the same as a Samurai and the parts will be available through the dealer, places like trailtough, or ebay.  Suzuki Sidekick/Geo Tracker window rubbers also work well with Samurais.

The Suzuki should get you there if everything is in working condition.  They do pretty well in stock form.
