Who's had a newer Track/Kick/Vit/Sammy?
« on: December 12, 2010, 07:37:28 PM »
I would guess that most of us got our Zuks' when they were old beaters.  But I know a few people here have had them since new.  I know Wild has had his since 1989.  Who here has had their Zuk since it was 5 years old or less?  If you had it when it was newish (and worth real money) did you wheel it then?  Did you modify it then or keep it stock?

I bought my old 89 used in 1994.... she had around 50K on her and I started wheeling her on the test drive  >:D. Slowly built her up over many years while going to school... definately worth it... I hated to put her out of her misery two years ago  :'(

I bought mine new in 2000, we still got the first gen until 2003. I had to wait 6 months before I took it wheeling because of land closures due to the foot and mouth epidemic stuck a set of 215/15 muds on it and ran it like that until 2002 when I fitted a 2" spring lift before taking part in the Sweden Off-road Tour.

I started wheeling mine when the engine still had that new engine protective
spray smell, and had lifted the body by re-arranging the stock rubber body mounts
within 6 months of buying the truck

Would love to find a " new " one, or at least a low milage one. There was one on ebay awhile back that had sat in a dealership since new, 19miles on it, a 95 or 6, I think. It auctioned off for almost the price of a new one, 14K I think, and that was last year!

I had my 89 Tracker.  Bought it new in 89.  Waited til summer of 91 before adding a 3" body & 3" suspension lift (Procomp).  I stuck some 31's under it.  In 95 I put a header on it.  96, I started cutting into the fenders to put some 33's under it.  Rolled it in 97.  Put it back together, forgot to tightened one of the wheels & was driving on the highway  to have that rear driver's wheel come off & shoot past me on the highway.  Did a frame & body restoration in 2006.  Haven't touched it since.  Currently own a 99 Tracker.
