Nice engine swap. How about a write up?
Well, I'm doing it, just that it's in Spanish (it's my first language). Though, the other day I was just thinking of doing an English version write-up. I think I'll give it a try.
I've invested too many hours on the web looking for information on this sort of engine swap but it's very scarce so I talked to my mechanic about making plans (diagrams) of the engine mounts, flywheel mods (it seems that you can use the original J20A or J23A flywheel) and wiring harness mod as we go about it. My aim is to make a swap kit available that anybody could afford. It's not for sure though, but those are my plans.
Also, I'm thinking of boosting it, say 8psi, and if all goes well, maybe you will see a turbo kit too.
For now, I'm concentrating on making a swap with as many OEM, unmodified parts as possible (meaning, with almost no parts machining or as less as possible). Just today, I found a way of not modifying the OEM flywheel that I'm using as opposed to what I've read on other swaps I found on the web.
You can go to this address and use Altavista's Babblefish to translate the text:
http://www.carrito.net/board/showthread.php?t=145922It may be a bit difficult to understand as I used too many spanish street slangs. If not, as soon as I finish the swap, I'll be making a complete write-up in both language versions (obviously, if I decide to make the kit I'll omit some info but not so much to leave anybody lost).
BTW, my initial ? on the diff gears I answered it from the info on this forum, so I gotta that everybody who participated on those threads. Thaks guys!
Now I'm off to look for a 4.30 Diff Assy....
