Sorry, It doesnt fit. the 4 door has a wider frame. :'(

Wow! What an artical! Nice pics too! I didnt mention that it was hard because I (luckly!) have never had any trouble with this mod. :-/ Rust can be a bi*ch huh!

If you have have a 3" BL, i think a tank lift is a very good idea. you can also do it with a 2", but may need some more work.

Who has done this on a 4-door w/2" B/L??

I've been searching and reading for 2 hours now and can't match up someone that's raised the gas tank on a 4-door with a 2" body lift.

Feel free to chime in now with the answers/pics/information.

The tank is wider and larger than the 2 doors, so it'll be different i'm sure, and most of these dudes seem to have a 3" body lift to start with for the tank lift.

Shouldn't the tank be low for safety purposes? I mean, if you get rearended and your tank is higher, its more likely to get crushed and cause a fire/explosion right? Or am I way off base.

Actually in stock form the tank hangs below the frame rails some. Lifting the tank 3-4" pretty much centers it vertically in the frame so it is much more protected...

How much wider is it? I just tore the body off of a 92 four door frame and although I didn't measure, it looked the same. If the 4 door frame is wider, then what about the coil cups on the rear axle? And what about the engine mounts?
