My X-90 gets 25-28 MPG running at 75-85 mph. But my Kick gets about half that.

Man
I understand why my mp "Canadian"gallon shocked everybody even when I convert to US I'm still doing real well.

I know raising the vehicles will hurts the aerodynamics and will hurt gas mileage...do you think the rest is the larger diameter tires making the little engine work harder?

Any thoughts............

More rolling resistance, more unsprung weight, less aerodynamic do to lift, more vehicle weight do to lift, skid plates, rollbars.

I am also wondering if everyone is taking into account that the taller tires give you less revs per mile.

Also, without gear correction, the larger tires are making the RPM lower.  Basiclly "lugging" the engine.  So we are not in the meat of the torque curve anymore.

All that being said,  my uncorrected mileage is about 26.   ;D

I see that alot of people are not correcting for larger tires. You are actually getting better mileage than you thought! I 30" tire will travel farther than your stock tire will per revolution so what ever your odometer says you need to add what ever % in tire size difference you have.

I travel the same route to work every day and usually get 3.5 days to a tank full this was before the lift and tires. I am still basically the same so my mileage is still arouns 25-28 MPG(us)

Both of my speedo's are near dead on. My mileage suffers due to high mileage on the engines and driving my vehicles WAY to hard. My Kick is usually has the pedal on the floor where ever I go and the X-90 is 0-75 as fast as I can get there then hold it at 75-85 mph for 90 miles twice a day. If I would slow down a bit I think my mileage would increase dramatically.

I'm about 20mpg on hiways ... about .5 gph while trail running.

(31" tires, steel wheels, really tired 8V)

My 28 mpg with 31's is a corrected figure. I thought mine was a bit thirsty but I'm feeling better now  :) still want a long range tank though as jerrys take up space.

Man the 1.8 must get crappy gas mileage. :-[ Because mine has been lowered at has no bigger tires then stock. I was thinking maybe the twenties added weight would bring it down. But i get the same as before adding the twenties. I think the best i ever pulled was 27 28 average is 24-26

23 mph before the lift and 31' tires and much abuse,
Now it gets 18-20 around town, about 16 highway (it has to work real hard to maintain highway speeds).  While running mostly trails, not the rocks, I still get about 18 MPH.  It's an odd little duck, but seems to run better as soon as I leave pavement.
