To my mind, that much of a change can only mean fuel leak.  Start with the hoses under the hood.

First turn on the ignition to power up the fuel pump -- without actually starting the engine -- and feel/smell around for anything seeping from pipe-to-hose connections.  If nothing, try again after starting.  If still nothing, try again immediately after turning off the engine.

All of that, of course, is assuming you're actually putting a full tank's worth of gas in.  You'll get a lot fewer miles out of a dented tank, too...

It's the new gas, try adding 2 bucks worth of Diesel to it per ten gallons of gas it seams to help mine out a little, the more they mess with the fuel the worse it gets, try sticking with mobile or chevron gas, I just took a two thousand mile trip and the cheap gas stations turned out to be not so cheap, I started out with 43 mpg and went down as low as 28 mpg with the same rig, same day of driving, same hwy, just diffrent gas stations.

Also, check your tire pressure.

I have problems with the helpful people at the oil change places setting my tire pressure to the "factory recommended specification" of 23 psi.  Gas mileage drops to about 22mpg.  pump the tires up to about 35 psi, and I get about 29mpg.  Rides like a brick, but worth it...

It's the new gas,

This is most likely the problem.  Ethanol kills mileage. I had a Saturn that routinely got 300 miles per tank. One day, I decided to "save money" and I filled up with the "cheaper" 10% ethanol gas. I got 200 miles out of that tank. Out of curiosity, I switched back and forth to test my findings. It was no fluke. Since then I've stuck to 100% pure gasoline.

pump the tires up to about 35 psi, and I get about 29mpg.  Rides like a brick, but worth it...

I keep mine at 30 psi for the same reason, my TracKick rides like a brick, yours must be more like a cement block  ;D

That has been pretty much the same response that i have gotten everywhere else that i have asked its the ethanol in the gas.  Are there any certain gas stations that don't put ethanol in there gas?  I have heard about the diesel gas but i was afraid that it would ruin my engine?

You can run a good amount of Diesel fuel mixed with gas it won't hurt anything most of the new Diesels run a cat and the new Diesel is ultra low sulfer.

Depends where you are.  In MO, after the first of the year, they made it manditory that all gas contain at least 10% ethanol......but they didn't seem to lower the price per gallon any to offset the worse gas mileage you get with the 10% blend.
BTW, I hate 10%.....I tried it years ago (when it was actually cheaper than the regular gas) and it always made the vehicle I put it in run worse and mileage seemed to go down too.
Recently, I have lost about 4-5 MPG, and I am still researching whether it is in connection with the 10% blend or something else that has affected it.

Diesel is less refined than gasoline so it does not have near as many chemicals in it as gas, When you make gas from crude oil it kinda goes like kerosene, jet fuel, diesel, premium gas ,regular gas, and lpg was a by product of making gas that used to be just let out into the atomosphere and like k1 was just dumped some times I have heard early on, maybe some one on here knows more about it.
