NEED HELP
« on: September 02, 2006, 08:21:50 PM »
i am in the process of removing the engine from my 89 2 door kick. i have all electrical/vaccum lines removed, and was looking in my chilton manual, and they said i needed to remove the whole front differential housing just to get the engine out! why would i need to do that?!?! i really would like to pull the engine and tranny together if possible. can anyone help me with this? by the way, its a 1.6L with auto tranny. thanks.

Just pull the engine, leave the trans unless you
need to have it out for some reason.

No you don't need to pull the front axle, Chiltons
is wrong on many things.

4 bolts and it will come out, but you might want
to remove the radiator, 2 small bolts and it will save
you time and damage to the radiator  ;)

i need the tranny out to rebuild it. i already took the radiator out, and the grille (but only to replace it because it was broken), and im basically ready to pull the motor. thanks for clearing that up!
