so i thought if hummers can do it why can't i. The only thing that has me worrried is the added weight. so here is my question has anyone one else had problems runnin more weight on the stock spare tire holder?

Personally, on a riced out Kick, I think shaving the back and keeping the spare inside looks best.  A local shop here in Danville has a shaved back on their Tracker and it looks pretty good.

I've heard of the door skin cracking from the weight of tires in the 32+ size.  I know I've read of beefs to fix this but can't recall any offhand.  It's been done is the best I can say.

I'd be surprised if that combo weighed much more than stock. Usual problems with the stock carrier and big tyres are 1, you can't close the tailgate with the bumper in place and 2) the weight cracking the carrier a 31" up tyre is a lot heavier than stock though.

what is the point..... a sad day for zuki owners everywhere.   maybe if u fit some 60inch tyres on it it could look good.  Hummers are for bum boys and soldiers (should be used by the navy instead!)

I'd shave the mount, and sink & box the liscense plate, put the spare inside. full size spares with 20's are usually a waste because you can't use them in tire rotation because they're usually directional tires.(if you plan to rotate) I like to see stuff shaved, antenna's, door handles, etc.

I'm not feeling the love guys. The shaving thing is not a good idea because i can't fit a spare inside because of audio system. And i figure if i have to have a spare on back it might as well match. I guess you guys aren't into the suv that can only go on paved road look I do like the idea of shaving the door handels and license plate idea.  hum new ideas to think about. Next on the list is air bags though so it can sit lower on the tires.

Eh, to each their own.  I'm not much for lowering unless it's an old car that goes fast but I can respect what you've done and your desire to do it.

Look around some, I know in the last few years I've seen where someone beefed up the mount to take the weight of a large offroad tire.  I'd bet with that much aluminum that spare isn't a light weight.

I'm getting lowering springs and new shocks soon.... FOR MY 4x4  Though I would like to get airbags and airstruts instead. So I have a choice of if I am lowered or not.(not would be more for winter, in deep snow)
Rims and tires to come later since I can't find any that fit and that I like and can afford.

i beefed up and fab'd my stock carrier to hold a 31" tire and then the door started to make noises so the spare is now on the roof rack. i doubt that your tire weighs more than a 31" mud tire. does it fit on the carrier now w/o hitting the bumper? if so it should be all right. plus you wont be bouncing down rough gravel roads all the time which i'm sure is what led to the problems with my truck.

hey hey!! dont get me wrong... im all for lowering them an that... but the big chrome wheels an low profile tyres!?!?!? thats not right... a nice set of wide, deep dished wheels, and some beefy wide tyres look great. with a little spoiler on the back of the hard top and some nice wide arches.... hey... i just described a vitara wide boy!!!!!

now thats a cool "low" 4x4... none of this "fat chrome" rubbish that gets ruined as soon as u turn onto a raised curb.... try someting like this.

eh no problem with the lowering< i like the air bags for winter driveing since you can raise and lower it  I personally do not like the chrome but gimme some anthracite 20's on a GV and you got my attention as long as you still have 4x4 and a big brake kit and you better be thumping to some sweet sounding jungle .....  oh yeah the blue color for the body   

Yeah the tire in is smaller then the stock tire on the vehicle hince way its lowered two inches. I would say its about 10 pounds heavier then a stock wheel. The fat is ok not my style and its steering is on the wrong side for me. pluse i need 4 doors for the family. I think it will be ok as long as i don't hit any bumps since i have zero suspension movement. but let me tell you it handles like a ralley car. Now if i can scrap up the money and get wild to build me a turbo 1.8 it will be as fast as a ralley.

I'm a fan of all customs, cars, trucks, vans, bikes, lowered, lifted, extended, shortened. I have no preference and I enjoy it all because I like to see what people can do. But, I'm not "feelin" the full size spare, (unless you already have one)the money your going to spend on another twinky and tire, you could have an AA membership for "x" many years, and they will take care of your flat.  It's just my opinion, don't take it to heart, do what you like and what you think will look(and work)best.

Have you ever driven one with 10" wheels and low profile tyres? The steering is shocking they tramline like mad and are very prone to aquaplaning too. I was glad to get my MTs back on. I did enjoy the lowered gearing though, made a huge difference, like having an extra 20bhp 
I'm a fan of all sorts of vehicles, it might not be my thing but I always admire good workmanship and original thinking.
