Foot Rest
« on: June 26, 2004, 06:49:21 PM »
Anybody have a foot rest in their ride?  I have found that I really want one.  I have this habit of placing my left foot all the way at the fire wall with nothing to rest on.  At the last auto show I noticed that Suzuki has been putting nice foot rests in the new trucks.

If anybody has one, can you maybe post a picture or recommend a good one?  I'm kinda looking at one on ebay but not to sure what to go for just yet...even though it's just a foot rest.

One of the guys that trail rides with me has Harley foot pegs (one on each side) just under his lower door hinge on one of his sammy's.   Ok it is a foot rest but it is not in his ride...   He uses them for those doors off long cruz kina trail rides, He also has the DUI knob on the steering wheel.   That knob may have broklen his hand on yesterdays trail ride.    It was a no time for foot pegs kind of happening.

What's a DUI knob?

We here call it a nigger knob (not a racial slur) it's a knob mounted to the steering wheel and looks like a door knob that spins freely both directions.

Funny you post this. My wife has just started asking if one can be fitted in her Tracker, keep an update on what you do!  BTW, very cool Eddy avatar! Where'd you find all them? I've been a Maiden fan for as long as I can remember!

Wow, that DUI knob sounds weird... but thanks for the info.

As for the avatars, that one is linked directly off of www.ironmaiden.com .  The other one I had on I made myself with Photoshop and was linked off my web site.  ;D

I'm thinking I'm going to have to drill to secure the foot rest on the body...and I'm going to have to be careful about that.  I don't want anymore holes then I have too.

Also known as suicide knobs...I don't believe they are legal for passenger vehicles anywhere in Canada...

Ya Suicide knobs are Illegal in Canada on any passenger Vehicle. (We’ll at least in BC)

Dude, if you want a footrest, go to Canadian tire and buy one of those Foot shaped gas pedals.  Then all you have to do is make some kind of bracket and bolt it to your floorboard

Or you may be able to get away with double sided tape if you’re not real keen on putting new holes in your ride.

It would look pretty sweet IMHO.  8)

I've picked up one from a wrecked Japanese market model to put in mine but need to make up a bracket as its mounting point was welded to the floor.
