Have you thought about doing the 3.4L if you're going with a V6. I know it is a direct swap for those Chevy, Isuzu people who are tired to the doggy 2.8L. I think everything from the 2.8 swaps over, including the trans mounts and engine goodies. My problem with the 2.8Ls, both a Isuzu Tropper and a GMC pick-up, have been the huge lack of power. My 2.4L I-4 in my toyota truck performed better and towed more than the 2.8L. Although I'm sure the 2.8L it is a large step up from the stock sami, if you're going to go through all the trouble of a v6 swap, think about the 3.4 V6. I'm sure if I'm wrong about the swaps, someone will correct me. Good luck!
