2.8L V6 conversion

does anyone know of any kits or know any information on how to fit a 2.8L chevy v6 into a samuri any information with hell. Thanx ;D

If that is the same engine as the jeep and the fords have, why?  ::)

Have you thought about doing the 3.4L if you're going with a  V6.  I know it is a direct swap for those Chevy, Isuzu people who are tired to the doggy 2.8L.  I think everything from the 2.8 swaps over, including the trans mounts and engine goodies.  My problem with the 2.8Ls, both a Isuzu Tropper and a GMC pick-up, have been the huge lack of power.  My 2.4L  I-4 in my toyota truck  performed better and towed more than the 2.8L.   Although I'm sure the 2.8L it is a large step up from the stock sami, if you're going to go through all the trouble of a v6 swap, think about the 3.4 V6.  I'm sure if I'm wrong about the swaps, someone will correct me.  Good luck!

Mr Fuelish, the 2.8L V6 Chevy and Jeep used is different from the 2.8L V6 Ford used.

That said neither would be a good swap.  If one was wanting to swap in a relatively simple TBI smaller V6 the GM 3.4L mentioned before or a Ford 2.9L would be good swaps.

GM 2.8L's are known for having rotating assembly issues.  Broken rods are common.  Bad design that was rectified by the 3.4L in the Camaros and the replacement by the 4.3L in the S-series trucks.
