O2 sensor/PCV
« on: March 06, 2007, 09:14:19 PM »
My truck is at 153,000+ miles and about due for a new PCV valve and O2 sensor.

So yesterday I was tinkering around the engine trying to locate both. I think I've found the PCV valve, but I'm not sure. So my question is, where is the O2 sensor located, and where is the PCV valve? About how much is the total cost to replace both of these together?

PCV should be in the top of the intake manifold, next to the valve cover.  There should be a rubber hose that runs from it to the valve cover.  Or it is located in the valve cover, if you have a 16V engine.
O2 sensor is in the exhaust manifold.  Has 1 wire coming from it, going to the wiring harness (or 3, or 4 wires, if you are talking about a later model trackick).

I see you have a 96 Kick.
That's an OBD II rig.
That means you should have TWO  O2 sensors - one above the cat, and one below the cat.

Thanks. I priced O2 sensors online, about $80 a piece. So I need 2x$80 O2 sensors?
