Did anybody install Eagle Alloy wheels?
« on: January 17, 2007, 05:27:56 AM »
I'm looking to install Eagle Alloy 055 wheel.
PN: 0550-7757

http://www.aewheel.com/eagle_alloy_wheels.cfm?id=22

They look good and they are availaible in 16X7 size.

I'm pretty sure they fit on my Vitara, but a supplier (who has very good price) said me they will not fit, because the Vitara is not in his listing.  ::)

I run a 15x10 that looks just like those on my samurai, I would have them pull off one of your front rims and bolt on one of theirs to make sure it clears the caliper, if so go for it.

4" ?

I think is 4,25" (108mm)  ???

It's the measure I've taken on my stock wheel and measure listed here:

I have a set of those, they were quite common over here, sold by Suzuki as an optional extra with the WideboyFatboy kits. I have the 8x15s and they are VERY heavy, I put steels on instead, saves a lot of weight.

If it's a V6 GV, prolly not.  Very few options for the GVs.  Calipers are big, needs a JJ code for the rims.

Yeah, ally is 1/3 the weight of steel but steel rims are usually pressed from sheet steel. Those alloys are a very thick casting. Theres an awful lot more than 3 times the amount of metal so it works out a fair bit heavier.

With all contracdictive informations I've received from many suppliers (wheels will fit, whells will not fit, wheels are discontinued  ::)  ), I will not take any chance.

I've ordered 16X7 steel wheels this morning from a local tire dealer.

Those wheels are sold to Vitara, GV and XL7 owners to install winter tires.

They look at that:

Over here those wheels are fitted as stock to most GVs. You get a lot of owners fitting alloys from new and the steels can sometimes be had quite cheaply from the dealers.

You can look here, but they are a little bit expensive on this site:

I've paid 88,50$ (canadian dollars) for mines.
