Doing a SPOA and want about 3 inch added lift.  Can go with Deaver Springs to fit Zuk or go with YJ and add adapter plates for extra width.  The YJ spring change has been recommended and that would cost about $550 plus the cost of the YJ springs.  New Deaver 3" lift springs cost about $500 with shipping and no additional parts are needed.  Less parts usually means less to break or go wrong.  Anyone have experience with the Deaver Springs?   Do I need to add the "Missing Link" with the Deaver Spring to have the maximum suspension extension?  Is the YJ conversion really worth the extra $550 adater kit plus spring cost?  Sammy will be used on and off road.  A few words or wisdom are welcome.  Thanks

The YJ kit gives you a softer ride and I've never heard anyone saying "I wish I HADN'T put the YJ Spring kit on my Samurai".  Take that as you will. 

 Doing the YJ conversion is worth it's weight in gold both on and off-road. They ride better than stock by leaps and bounds.
 The fronts are 9" longer than stock and the rears are 6" longer than stock springs. The extra moving parts are only dependant on which company you go through for the YJ kit.
 The kit available through Rocky Road Outfitters is the only kit I'm aware of that doesn't use missing links on the front. Personally this is the setup I prefer just because of that aspect alone, less pieces to allow slop and makes it wander on pavement. I don't think you'll notice much difference offroad with wheel-travel with or wothout missing links. The YJ springs flex that good on their own.
 The only suspension that would be any better would be just to convert it to coil and be done with it.

I just came back from the local junk yard and they have a 93 wrangler YJ.  I could not get under the vehicle because of the other cars around it.  The part of the springs I could see had a lot of surface rust.  If I can get a better look and the rust is only surface are these springs a good choice or do I look for better springs from a YJ dealer?  Your thoughts?  Thanks Carl

I went to the Rocky Road web site and looked at the YJ Jeeper kit with SPOA.  They use OME springs.  I like the description of the YJ conversion which does not need the missing link - I appreciate having gotten that advice earlier.  Do I go with the entire package, Rocky Road SPOA, OME springs, and YJ conversion or do I use SKY Manufacturing SPOA and Rocky Road YJ conversion?  OME springs or standard YJ aftermarket springs?  Appreciate any advise on experiences with doing business with Rocky Road or Sky and  in particular is the Rock Road SPOA for the YJ conversion as strong as the SKY manufacturing looks on the web?  Rocky Road may be a great company but I get nervous when someone talks a lot pushing their product - just me.  Thanks, everyone who as taken the time to offer some advice has been helpful and made a lot of sense for this new sammi want a be.

Everyone has a favorite supplier/shop.  Your pretty safe ordering from any company that is listed on the front page at Zukiworld.com, in such a small community companies that ship poor quality products  don't last to long. 

The only issue with Rocky Road is make sure they have the parts in stock before you order them.  Sometimes it can take a while to get back-ordered items and it isn't fun waiting a month for the one part you need to get started/finished. 

Thanks "evil Cow" that does take some concern away.   I'm going to Rausch Creek Off Road in PA for a meet scheduled for Saturday.  I hope to see a few Zuk's participate and maybe see some of the hardware I'm considering.  I think I understand a lot more than a week ago about what needs to be done.  When I get things going I'll post some progress.
