Budget Buildup
« on: March 30, 2005, 07:36:31 AM »
Alright, so I'm thinking about taking parts Tracker #3, making some home-made coil spacers and doing a 2-3" BL (ala Nate and Heather's budget lift guide) to fit the 31's off my Bronco so that I have a play toy for the summer while I'm waiting on SAS funds for the black Tracker.

But anyway, to anyone who's made their own coil spacers: what material did you use, and where did you get it? Are there any places online that sells plastic in thicknesses of 1.5-2" that's tough enough for coil spacers?

Also, where's the best place to buy new CV shafts from? Are there any nation-wide auto parts stores that sell lifetime warranty CV's?

Sure - NAPA - but after having my NAPA replacement axle explode into two pieces at Moab, I have to question if it's worth the lifetime warrantee...

explosivo,

just drill out heep spacers ... they are workin good for me ... and at $40 was cheap enuf to not worry about fab/hunt time.

Also, if your just going to run 1.75 spacers, the cv's will live long enuf (knock on wood).

Don't forget to spool/weld up that rear if you really wanna thrasher :)

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy it.

It's $40 a pair for jeep spacers, right? That's just a bit less than $100, which is a lot of money for this project. :P

Stu, if I find any material, I'll give ya a PM ;)
