DEAD ECM anybody?
« on: January 19, 2005, 05:41:27 AM »
Does anybody have a totally dead Sidekick ECM?

I'm looking for one, just to get the connectors off it, as an easy way to interface a MegaSquirt II ECM into the existing harnesses on my Kick.

I've been looking for one myself for a long time. I did get one but it has the wrong connectors on it  :( even though it came off an 8V TBI same as mine. I think it might be cheaper and easier to replace the loom to match the housing then find the right one for a reasonable price.

If your's is the 91 listed, it won't work for Bob. 8v vs 16v.

Bob, what is the benefit of the Megasquirt II on a N/A motor?

I managed to get one for my project in the end. It is a 16V but has the same connector as the 8V (totally different pcb though) so an 8V one might be OK for you too, you would have to check that the number of pins tallies. My connector is shown below, it has a completely different pin to that shown in the FSM, pin numbers are taken from the silkscreen.

Good news Bob, MegaSquirtII is going
to be released next week, it's got a new
CPU with more memory than the first MSII
that was released, this one is being dubbed
the V2 and requires a different programing
program, and they want the infrastructure
in place before the release of this version
