Hobgoblin made me an INCREDIBLY NICE set of Rock Rails, He designed them, and I sent him some measurements for my application, as I wanted to remove part of my existing rockers, and install a set of custom rails, no lower (actually a little higher) than the stock rockers..ÂÂ
By now, you guys know I am against body lifts.. but I didn't want to hang sliders down below the rockers and lose anything.. so I decided to cut the rockers out AND install rails..
Better pictures later, it is dark and friggin COLD out today.. bout 13 at the moment.. I had to lie in the driveway and cut out the rockers... (I just have the one side done at the moment)
ANYWAY, the main body of the rail is made of 2" square tubing, with 2" tubing going back to the frame, and 1/4" plate steel fabbed into "saddles" so it securely wraps the frame..
I can highlift off'em no prob.. I could hang the Tracker by them if I needed to... LOL..
They fit in great with my overall look, I think..  Once again, better pics tomorrow..
but from the side picture, you can see the driver side, where most of the rocker was rusy anyway, so I just took some light sheet metal, and riveted it into the door jam, and wrapped it back under and riveted in place.. this gives the original wiring harness a nice secure "conduit" to run in.. no worries..
THANKS HOBGOBLIN!!!   You rock!
