SOFT TOP QUESTION
« on: January 20, 2007, 06:15:12 PM »
Soft Top Question,

My soft top has two snaps that need replaced, where can I get some?

My Soft Top does not attach on the sides, although it appears to have slots there to do so, also would be much more quite if it did attach on sides like the front.

Boat shops carry the same snaps. I had one fixed for $20 at a place that makes boat tops.

do a search for soft top at Ack's FAQ.  There you will find a reproduction of the soft top installation and removal instructions found in the Samurai Owner's Manual.

As Mikerpm4x4 pointed out, you can get those snaps at places that make boat covers and sewing material stores like Hancock Fabrics.  Maybe Hobby Lobby (not the RC airplane and car place!) has them too.

I bought heavy duty snaps at wal-mart, it their fabric/sewing section ;) They were the same as what was on the top, just a little more shiny.

Try wally world, I think I have seen snap replacement kits there. I believe I saw them in the camping/camp trailer section.
