Tranny notchiness?
« on: November 12, 2006, 02:34:11 PM »
Any other 2000 GV manual trannie owners find their transmission shifting to be notchy? I have since put synthetic Redline fluid in and that has helped a little but I am still finding it notchy at times. Thanks for the help.

I have a 2000 2.0 Tracker that I bought used, the previous owner was a little hard on it I think, the gears can grind if I shift it too fast from 5th to 4th or 4th to 3rd, or first to 2nd.  I know that this sounds bad, I just don't shift like a mad man, take my time running through the gears and it shifts nice.  I also used synthetic gear oil in it and it helped a little bit.  I realy can't complain.  It now has 67,000 miles on it, original clutch, brakes, exhaust, etc.  This is one of the best little trucklets I've ever owned.  Dave ;D
