Cherry Bomb on a Sidekick?
« on: March 01, 2007, 10:18:35 PM »
I'm thinking about putting a Cherry Bomb muffler on my Sidekick to free up some horses, but I'm worried that it will be too loud on the freeway. Has anybody put one on? I'd like to hear/see a video clip if you've got one! Thanks, Austin

PS- It is a 16 valve 4 door, just in case that makes any difference.

After my muffler fell off on Monday I welded one of theses on, it seems to be fine on the highway.......mind you with just the converter it was ok on the highway, just in town it was loud. It has a alright sound now......I would prefer a bit more of a throaty sound though. Not sure of any hp gains.

I have been thinking about doing the same thing to my 98 Tracker.  Can somebody tell me the inlet and outlet diameter that I need to get to replace my stock muffler with a glasspack?

The following website has sounds of various exhaust systems on different vehicles and engines.  I don't think that they have any Sidekick/Tracker sounds, but you can check out similar size engines.

my 94 track had 1 3/4" o.d.  stock exhaust so you would need 1 7/8" i.d. for a nice fit

I have one of these, and while it doesnt seem that loud to me, it seems to be getting louder, and it really didnt have any gains in hp over the stock system.
Runnin' it stock with 225/75R15s and an unmodified 8valve TBI motor (I need a doug thoroley header and a cam) (more power) (1.6 liters of madness) (vroom + sewing machine sounds)
