For you folks with Kicks, that don't already have 4.24:1 low gears, this is $180 off the regular price, and worth every penny.  These gears are AWESOME.

I had to give the Gnewt gas to get DOWN Lion's Back in 1st gear!

I don't want to start a supplier war but I was wondering if there is any difference in construction between the tracker gears and the new set Trailtough is offering? Price seems about the same as Calmini is supplying more with the gears.

Well, I can't say anything about the reliability of the Trailtough gears, I know that Brent Bradshaw has a very good reputation, as a straight-shooter, a good guy, a knowledgable resource, and his stuff is good quality.  For all I know, the two products could be made by the same 3rd party.

BUT - I also know the Calmini gears have been in vehicles, on trails, being used and abused for years, with good results.  Calmini did it first.  Trailtough appears to have come up with what may be an exact copy - hell, maybe they're getting them from Calmini!  I just know that this is an incredible opportunity to get The Original.  I know where I spent MY money (and at the time, that "other" Sidekick vendor was selling THEIR gears for less, too).

We've been SUPER happy with our Calmini gears in our Sidekick t-case.  We were very happy to slow down the ENTIRE group of Zuki''s down in Moab last year.  Worth every penny.

Yea a 4:1 is the way to go. I have never regretted that mod even for a sec..

BTW, Calmini was #2 :o GRP Automotive out of Australia beat them to it by about a year ;D but I dont think you can get them in the states :-/. If Calmini would of been first I definately would of bought from them like everything else on the Kick 8)

No, Calmini's gears are cut from a solid piece of steel.  Their not welded together or modified.

I've also had great luck with the gear set.

In reference to the post by 96track

Your kidding right?  If not, its time to pull that wool back from the front of your head.  Do people actually believe this kind of crap?  CALMINI came out with this gearset how many years ago?  trail tough just releases their copy and then they become the ultimate source?  ::)

I have a comment for Calmini's customer service. My friend bought a set of 5.14's last Wednesday at the regular price of $550. Well, I saw the special on their site today and called him up to let him know. He called Calmini and spoke with Chris in sales and told him he was disappointed that he missed the special by just a few days. Well Chris graciously offered to credit back his card the difference from the special. So my friend got his gears for the sale price. That is plain awesome customer service!!  ;D
You're right.........I don't understand.

i too have herd that calmini is a lil slow, though i have not seen it with my orders.  sometimes waiting for quality is a good thing.

i was going to buy their 5.83 front and rear gears from them.  i have 31s on a manual and drive to work every day.  would this 4.24 be to low for me?  i would rather do the transfer than both ends :-*

just my own personal experince, and my good friend who has also had experince with them, they are slow to get your produsts, and not nearly as friendly to talk to and too busy to anser stupid questions.the people at trail tough have always tried to anser my questions and walk me through a project i may need help with. THEY WILL ALWAYS HAVE MY BUSINESS OVER CALMINI. i always got the impression from calmini that they thought they were better than i am and didnt have time for me. as far as quality,i bought a set of heavy duty axel shafts for front, wich requires a rear 3rd member. i had to transfer my 513s and locker to a rear carrier, the first 4wheeling trip i twisted both of them in half, on stock birbields!!!
not to mention they twisted off behind the seal ,calmini wouldnt let me drill and tap them out so i could thread a bolt in to pull them out,PIA that was a nitemare getting thoes things out ,jb welded a bolt to them 3 times each or more befor i finall got them out, then waited 3 weeks for new ones befor i finally went back stock, with birfield rings, from trailtough no more probs. just my experiences with calmini

Transfer case gears on a Trac/Kick only lower the low range not the low and high like a sami.  So you would have to do the axles to get the lower gearing to make up for the bigger tires.
