500 RPM Idle
« on: September 02, 2009, 04:25:52 AM »
What should a 1993 Geo Tracker idle at?  When I crank my 2dr 8v engine, it idles ok at first, but it drops down to 500 rpms.  It will go back to 1000 at times, but I wonder why it is dropping out at 500.  What could be the problem?  TPS?

Thanks for your feedback.

It should idle at 800rpm, unfortunately almost every EFI problem affects the idle. You really need to get hold of the FSM and work your way through the diagnostic pages or check out Jerry's pages
