Biggest tires with no lift?
« on: January 14, 2004, 12:52:13 AM »
Have a '97 Tracker, and I wondered what you all's experiences are with bigger tires  and slightly wider wheels with no lift? I might one day do something like the OME 1.5-inch suspension lift, but nothing really serious. I would like to increase the tire size somewhat. So, what's the biggest tire you can use with no lift?

Biggest tire you can get is usually 1-2 tire sizes larger than the original set.

235/75R15 seams to be a good tire for a stocker.

i have 235 75 15's on my tracker there perfect for having no lift they rub a tiny bit at full left turn (but i never turn that tight any way so it dont matter)

i think you could easily go to the 30/9.5x15's they would rub a little  more though but i dont think it would be a big problem

any way if you want picts of my tires email me at rad_to_the_max|removethispart|@hotmail.com
and ill send them along to you (ive been having a hell of a time trying to get picts hosted and dont have the skill required to use car domain)

I run 235/75/15 (29") MT/R's with OME suspension, and w/o body lift. They fit with no rubbing at all.

The setup is very comfortable, and supports the car very well.
However, it's a bit soft at the tail if you're into some hard wheelin', or carrying a heavy wight.

I was thinking of purchasing 215/70R/15s but when I asked a tire store guy about it he told me that it would throw my speedometer off.

Is this true?

He also said that it would rub on the frame and wheel wells, but I know that can't be because all of you say it won't.

Funny enough he drives a Grand Vitara...you'd thnk he know, but anyways...
