mushy brakes i'm done

Anyone have the fix for mushy brakes on a sammy. I'm have yota axles can you put a bigger booster or master on it whats the deal. Somebody has to have the fix. Somebody said like a astro van booster will mount right up. I probably will do a disc conversion. Thanks in advance costa 05

Do you have rubber lines? Are all the Toyota brake components new or within spec as to wear? Extended rubber lines will really give a mushy pedal. New braided lines or the "kevlar" type fancy ones will help a lot.

Certain subaru master cylinders fit well. Bigger boar = more volume to the breaks. Are you sure they're blead correctly, none of the slave / master cylindars are leaking etc?

I have the same set up, and mine seem to work fine.  They defiantly don't stop on a dime but they will bring me to a stop.

A Mazda 929 master cylinder will bolt right up to a samurai...

I've been looking for this master cylinder for a while now...
So far i have found nothing at the wreckers, and car quest wants something like 300 bucks for it.

Everything has been bled. It seems alot of sammi owners have brake problems. I did not know about the 929. Do you have stock booster and master or did you go to the 929 master. Tks

the samurais are a pain to bleed and get done right. If you are running toy's you should upgrade the master. it will make all the difference in the world.

Yeah it's good stuff. I'll I need to do now is go to the bone yard 93-95 will work looking at part #s. Mushy and have to pump them one  once or twice. I have to put the head on my jeep then I'll take it on. Tks.

i am working on the same thing right now, heres what i did

New master cylinder from autozone out of a early 80s firebird like 40 bucks or so. file the inside of the mounting holes on the M/C and it bolts right up. you have to change the fittings on the lines connecting to the M/C

proportioning valve for the rear brakes

rear discs in the Toyota axle

when you first get the M/C your going to thinks its too big and heavy (its all cast) but it seems to work great.

if you search this on pirate or google you can turn up write ups of others doing the same M/C
took me about an hour or two to get it on and everything all bled

Not sure what year 929 M/C is required, but Rock Auto has them starting at $69 Bucks

Went to pull an pay to day got a subaru 1 1/16 master cylinder supposedly it will bolt right up an all ya gotta do is use a bolt for a push rod. We will find out shortly.
