New Exhaust, What a difference
« on: March 07, 2004, 10:05:27 PM »
I had a new exhaust installed in my X-90 last Thursday and what a difference. I was running the faxtory exhaust and the front of the CAT split out. I had a Flowmaster 2 1/4" exhaust installed. When I did the same thing to my 8V Kick I noticed some difference but not nearly this much. It like driving a new car ;D I wish I had access to a Dyno before and after the mod, I'm sure the #'s would be impressive.

OH, Yea. Are the factory 16V Headers a better design than the 8V headers? Does any one know if the Calmini header will work on an X-90?

The factory headers are just as crappy on the 16V as the 8V.  Yes, the Calmini header SHOULD work, as the X-90 has the same 1.6/16 as the Sidekicks.  I have the Calmini headers on both my 95's - DD and Trail Rig.

I'm looking to get a new exhaust for a '89 Jimny JA71. But have no clue where to look. It doesn't help that I don't speak the language. :-[ so, can anyone help me out. Where can I look? I found these, but have no way of ordering, plus it doesn't look like they help that much...

I can only afford one upgrade at a time... and I really need the muffler ASAP.  I want to get the header for next year around this time, is it ok to do that?  ???

I think you will get more benifet from a bigger pipe and muffler and a stock ex. manifold.  As compaired to a header with stock pipes.

Sure it is, but I would do the header first.  Running my 2-door with just the cat, and no muffler at all, it still wasn't very loud.  In fact, I would be tempted to put on the header, and throw away everything behind the cat.
