acceleration issues (Problem Solved!!)

I just picked up a 1995 Sidekick JX 4 door 16 valve 5 speed. I noticed when I'm accelerating, it seems like it's bogging down some. When I ease back on the throttle, it seems to accelerate better. I also noticed that if I'm accelerating nice and easy, as soon as the rpms get up to 3,000, it picks up quick, almost as if I floored it. This is easiest to notice in 1st and 2nd gears.

Based on what I've seen in some of the topics here, I'll be checking the fuel filter. I was wondering if there is anything in either the fuel or ignition systems that happens at 3,000 rpms that might help me narrow down the field of possibilities.

I have an '87 Sami ( w/ '98 1.6 16v engine) that would bog and sputter in lower gears and lower rpms..... put in new plugs and the problem was gone.
Just an idea ......

filter is a good start, and check the PSI on the pump, could be weak

Look at the 02 sencer I put a new direct fit one in my 94 16v  it was wired wrong tested it moved the wires to the right places in the plug never bogged again    just a thought
87sami 32" bfg mt 6.5:1 w/reverse S shifter  1.6 16v sold and missed

I just wanted to provide update and feedback on my issue. On a hunch I started checking the plug wires. One had a loose connection at the distributor cap and another was loose at the number 3 plug. Also the number 3 plug wire had a couple of cuts in it and may have been arcing out. I bought a new set of wires and decided to replace the plugs as well. 3 of the 4 plus were only a little more than hand tight. New wires and plugs resolved all issues. It idles smooth and pulls strong through all throttle positions and RPM ranges. Thanks for the input guys.
