2wd sidekick
« on: March 27, 2007, 02:00:10 PM »
As some of you guys know i am about to buy a sidekick. When i first looked at it i didnt look inside or underneath.  I went today to look and found out its 2wd :(  I want it cause its in such good condition and the guys wants 550 bucks for it...I just gotta put an engine in it.  Do you guys think it would be worth buyin a 2wd sidekick...i love to wheel so i dont know.  I was planning on converting it to 4wd this summer when i got $$ saved up but should i go for it??

PS- does anyone wheel with a 2wd?  I was thinking with a rear locker it should do alright...wouldn't it?

If i could find a cheap 2wd (that ran),
I'd lift it the same and wheel it with a rear locker.
Pre-Runners do it.
Besides, I'd think it looked good that way.
Thats my one thought on it.
If it doesn't work for ya, you can always convert it.
Only dif is the front dif mount.
2wd don't have it.

I was curious about wheelin in my 2wd Tracker, too.  I used to have a 4x4 sidekick and I loved muddin' in it, but I haven't been in the Tracker yet.  I was thinking of getting rear lockers, because I have a small boat that I am going to pull with it and lockers would probably help on the boat ramp.

i want to lift my 2wd.  I was think 3 inch coil lift and a 1.5 coil spacer lift.  Id have to modify the lower strut hole to fix camber problems cause i dont think any camber bolt will adjust that much.  And also i think i would have to make a spacer for the rear a arm that bolts to the top of the rear diff.  Is this all i should need.  Would i need a driveshaft spacer with a 4.5" sus. lift?  cause i think a 2wd kick with 4.5" sus. lift plus maybe an additional 2 inch bodylift would be the coolest lookin thing around my area.  i would prolly throw some 31s on there. maybe 32s
