Got some bad news for you  :( Yes, ARB have made some 30 spline sidegears but there are only a couple left kicking around out the back and they don't even have a part number and they aren't planning on making anymore. I'm going to pick up a set tomorrow for myself  8)

OK, update time. Confusion reigned for a little while but all is now clear. You have the choice of 27 spline sidegears (#130904R & #131004R) and 30 spline sidegears. If you want the 27 spline, Spidertrax and Trail Tough have just got a few in and there should be more on the way soon. The 30 spline didn't exist in the system but they do exist if you know who to ask as I went and measured them yesterday.

you only have 33mm dia hole for the axle to fit through into the sidegear.  so i think the 30 spline might not work.

I have been thinking about this lately again....

The D30 ARB comes in both a 27 spline ( standard ) and a 30 spline ( upgrade ) version now.

The D35 ARB comes in a 27 and 30 spline also.

We know you can use a 27 spline ala Spidertrax and Trail Tough. If the 27 spline fits in the stock ARB locker the 30 spline should also. The stock carrier bearings should also work still right?

You could do a Ford semi-floating outer bearing like Trail Tough. They use Samurai Rotors and calipers ( or subaru ones for e-brakes )

I would like to see a full floater that was easy and mostly Zuk, and the mostly the same parts as the front to eliminate having a thousand different parts.

What about using Samurai or Sidekick spindles, bearing hubs, and brakes? The main problem I see is that the 1.31 (33mm) or 1.33 (33.3mm) 30 spline shafts are going to have to fit through. In an earlier thread I posted I found out that the sami splindle is 1.155". So the inside of the spindle needs to be bored out .155 ( plus clearance ). I do not know if the 1.155 number is with or without the little bushing inside the spindle. That might gain some room. I don't think you need that bushing for a rear floater application.

So that leaves hubs if you want to do a floater. That one is pretty easy. A stock Toyota Aisin locking hub will bolt on a sami spindle/bearing hub. They are 30 spline, though if I remember right the pressure angle of the dana 30 spline (carrier/diff) is slightly different than the Toyota 30 spline ( hub ). One works in the other but not the other way and I can't remember which. Another option along the same lines is that the drive flanges from toyta would also work for those who didn't want hubs.

Anyone know the specs on the inside dia of a sidekick spindle?

I know that swaping in a toyota or Ford rear end would be less work but I am after as light and strong as possible within the limits of 95% Zuk parts.

it's on my to do list, I should go out and take
the front hub spindle assembly apart on my
Kick since it's not running right now, too bad
it's dark out there and I don't have a garage.

Listen to me whine it's 65* outside and I am
compaining about no garage   :)

I'll see if I can get the spec as soon as I can,
i can measure the splined shaft that fits through
the spindle, and I know there is a brass bushing
in there to locate the axle stub shaft, BTW 2WD
Track/kicks also use the same spindle, but there
is a plug in the back side of it and no bushing

I'm curious if a Toyota side gear (made by asine
just like Suzuki stuff) would fit into a Track/Kick
rear 3rd member, and if a little machine work
would allow 30 spline axles to fit in there also

I need a wrecking yard in my back yard, then I
could do all this R and D in my spare time   ;D

PS  Maxima rear calipers have E-brake, and they
are made by tokiko, like Suzuki ones too, read OEM
supplier  ;D
