I was wondering if anyone sleeps in thier 4 door sidekick.tracker. I realize the 2 door is probablyt a bit tight, but one of the advantages to a 4 door is camping inside it.

Just curious to see if anyone does this and if so what kind of amenities and bedding has been create.

is that when the misses throws you out of the house or deleberate camping.
i just have a sleeping bag, duvet, and gas stove.

The way the seat folds up would make it next to usless for sleeping in the back unless you are a double amputee. (it is only 4-5' in back and the front seats don't tilt forward. )  If you took the rear seat out totally and stuck your feet between the front seats you might be able to sleep.
I would just use a tent. 

I sleep in it all the time, but just for cat naps on lunch.  My 90 Camaro was the most comfortable car for napping so once I tried to sleep the night in it.  Wasn't nearly as comfortable after a few hours.

I've slept in mine, but I did it sitting in the driver's seat.

I was toying with this concept too. I wanted to take it on a solo hunting trip instead of the van. I would be camping in it for up to a week so it had to provide some level of sleeping comfort.

First I removed the back seat (took about 5 minutes). I slid the front seats all the way forward and had just about 6' of length in there to sleep. I am 6' tall. I started to design a storage box to fit behind the front seats that would be the same height as the rear cargo floor. The problem was that I still wouldn't have much room for my gear. It also looked like the box may interfere with the front seat if not designed right. 

Then I noticed the front seats fold almost flat without the rear ones in there. I tried it out for sleeping and it wasn't bad. Like sleeping in a lazy-boy recliner. 

Anyway that was as far as I got with it all. I ended up just taking the van since it was all set to go.    But I kept the back seats out out of the Tracker and it makes it way more useful for me that way.  Still thinking about designing a storage/bed thing for it someday.

Have to say the My xl-7 is a ton of room for sleeping.  Two years ago while camping my ten got flooded out.  Took my air bed put it in the back and sleep like a baby with room to spare.

take the head rests off the front seat, slide them right forward and recline fully back.
voila one singel bed.
i never take a tent now, allways sleep in the truck.

if you don't haul 4 people around often yank the back seats! I could sleep in the back with my head to the rear door(just under 6') I did a test run and the wife thought I was nutz! For anythign more than emergency camping I will bring a tent thanks!

I liek the idea baout reclining the front seats to make a single bed, that is kinda cool. My friend has removed his rear seat and slides the front forward and tilted as decribed....yielding about 6 feet.

Of course there is the uneven terrain of the seat humb and hole for your feet. He was talking about building a platform to mount bedding on. Guys do that to 4runners alot.

I just thought it would be a waste of a long interior not to camp in it.

I've slept in the front seat of my tracker many times, taking a break at school waiting for soccer practice.

Also, me and my friend slept in the front seat one time over night, i was in the driver and he was in the passenger seat. We had had a little too much to drink and didn't want to sleep in the house we were at.

We don't need to sleep in the Tracker...   ...We have the Zukamper...

Honestly I used to sleep in my tracker quite often. While running the Ultimate Adventure Me and my brother in law slept in my rig for 9 days. The best way in my opinion was to remove the back seats, slide them all the way back, and recline all the way. Without the rear seats the front seats reciline almost totally flat. Then I put a small pillow(or sweatshirt ect) in the crack between the Base and the back. When we would get cold we would just start it up and crank the heat. I sleep just as good as I do at home.... of coarse we had our share of adult beverages

I think that threads like this are amazing. It seemed pointless to me at first, but I realize that one day I'm going to need to sleep in the kick.
