Newbie question, how much can a tracker take?
« on: November 09, 2004, 06:28:53 AM »
I know there are tons of mods for even the QV
I already purchased some really aggressive A/T at 235/75/15 from kaltona remanufactored
and they perform great

so my truck is pure stock it's an LX fleet vehical that I bought in 04 (but was an 03")
just I really have no real idea's on it's capability (asides my own)
like .... it's the 2.0 5 speeds
I like the lower speed transfer case and i rarely even need to use it
I believe w/ my 235/75/15 the truck now has 9" of ground clearance?

but they are open front/rear diff's right?
Are they breathable diff's? can I traverse water without much modification? how deep?
Can I go through deep snow without much problems are they heavy enough? I know with my old shitty tiger paw awp's they were horrid in deep snow

what is the weight of the vehicle as I don't even have air conditioning with my lx model?

with the open front/rear diff's should I look towards a addition device for mud/climbing scenerios?
is a LSD a good idea from Calmini or a locker from lockright?

I planned on this, since I got the tires and I still have 3 years of warranty left
2" body lift from RRO w/ all it's fixings such as shifter extentions, the 1" coil spacers
and diff protectors
I can't seem to find any skid plates neither which is starting to bug me
and should I weld in some toe hooks? or just install like a class 1 or 2 trailor hitch?

thanks
i appreciate the input

At this stage the only limits you will realy have is whatever you can clear with the stock ground clearance
like .... it's the 2.0 5 speeds
I like the lower speed transfer case and i rarely even need to use it

but they are open front/rear diff's right?Right
Are they breathable diff's?Yes can I traverse water without much modification? how deep?
Climb under your ride and follow the breather tube that runs out of the top of your front/rear diff. Your limit right now will be elevation oof the ends of the tubes and the top of the engine. If water leaks into the cab during deep crossings make sure the computer does not get wet
Can I go through deep snow without much problems are they heavy enough?no idea, we dont get 'deep' snow I know with my old shitty tiger paw awp's they were horrid in deep snow

what is the weight of the vehicle as I don't even have air conditioning with my lx model?I would guess around 2700# but not sure on the newer style

with the open front/rear diff's should I look towards a addition device for mud/climbing scenerios? once you find your self restricted by traction yes, but build it slow learning the limits of you vehicle as you go and you will be able to conquer alot more in it
is a LSD a good idea from Calmini or a locker from lockright?LSD will add traction but not as much as a locker, but a LSD is more road friendly

I planned on this, since I got the tires and I still have 3 years of warranty left

and diff protectors

and should I weld in some toe hooks? or just install like a class 1 or 2 trailor hitch?any thing to get good anchors to pull with

thanks
i appreciate the input

Your water crossing depth is also lmited by the height of your air intake.

Question
for most you guys running like 235/75/15's
what cold PSI would you guys run in the tires for all around purpose?
on my 5.5 running at 30psi, seems to make the middle buldge from looking at it
However the shoulders do seem to touch the ground
your suggestions?

Right, Boggers are At's
;)

They are... mud, snow, rocks, sand, you name it, they can take on all sorts of terrain with ease... except pavement ;)
