is there such a thing as a truely manual locker. one that is not actuated by an electrical or pneumatic source? just like manual locking hubs but for a diff lock

not that I've seen for the zuks, OX lockers have a cable the activates them, It doesn't,t look like the have them for any drop out third member   Zuk, ford 9" ,Toyota

You could hack up the Kam locker to use a cable instead of electric if you wanted.

The origianl Kam locker was cable operated so is the OE Suzuki 'parking' locker as fitted to German models.

Toyota E-lockers can be converted over to cable.
Cant beat a cable!

I actually knew that about the Kam locker.  I've never heard of the Parking locker before though.  What is that?

With the brake on the tcase the diff still allows one wheel to turn. In Germany the law requires the ebrake to work on both wheels so Suzuki fitted a cable operated locker to the rear axle. I have have seen conflicting reports on whether its suitable for use off-road. I nearly bought one once for the 410 but was warned off. I wish I had got it now, one of the Difflock boys eventually bought it to fit to his LJ.
