I'm exasperated! Even the mighty HAWK STRICTLY SUZUKI can't get me what I desire. I need a tool that works on this:

Anyone know where I can find this?

   I have used several,and all of them mere junk.The last one I tried was only good for 80 ft lbs,which is pretty useless.I finally found a nice one from snap on which is a great tool,but it was about $100.
  Advance auto had one for about 30 bucks,but it did not look very tough.

Try Lordco. Jet tools make all sorts of hub tools. You would just need to measure the diameter of the nut and how many cut outs it has.

You could make one with a drill press and a socket, kinda hard material to drill into though. I think there is a toyota hub tool that matches. might be easier to come by.  NMc

Screw it, making my own to get these pieces off, then I'm switching to the more common style locknut when I put it back together.

Best of luck to you on finding this tool. I searched fare and wide for it.  A good nail puch and torch worked just fine on my 96

     The punch and hammer method works well,and I have done it a few times.But it makes it hard to get preload right.

In the pics, the holes in the nut are rectangular, is this one of those 95+ changes? The holes in my nuts (careful now!) are round. I got tired of beating them up (sorry) so I built this simple tool out of 2x2 square stock and bolts.   http://www.flickr.com/photos/dustybadlands/sets/72157604436430837/   If I had rectangular holes, I'd grind them that way.

Your locknut is completely different from mine. Mine has 8 rectangular holes whereas yours has 4 round ones. I will be replacing my lock nuts with the kind that you have when I am finished putting everything back together.

This weekend I bought some front end parts from a 98 Sidekick. I'm thinking it was a 2 door because it didn't have vented rotors. I removed the locknut by drilling into it in 2 spots across from eachother with a 3/16" bit and then using a hammer and chisel to crack the locknut in half.

The Timken bearings I ordered look different than the bearings that were in the hub though. On one side was a sealed bearing but on the outside was a tapered roller bearing.

What gives? I thought 89-96 were the same and 97-99 were the same. Is this a 2-door/4-door difference? Will I be able to use my Tinmken replacement bearings on the stock spindle and will I be able to use the 2 door hub on my 4 door spindle?

A simpler tutorial on pic posting would be helpful (yes, even simpler!).

Check out the welcome thread at the top of this section of the forum, there is a how to post pics in there. If that does not work for you, do a search and there are numerous threads explaining how to get your pics up. If that still does not work, shoot me  PM with where you are having troubles....

Yeah know Dusty, if it'd be worth your time I bet you could make a few of those and sell them in the garage sale section.  I know I'd pop for one so I could get the torque load right.  The gauge on my punch is had to read.
