Nope, not always, a little draging
of the clutch disk on the flywheel
or pressure plate will cause the
trans to rotate the gears. This is
so bad in semi trucks that there
is a clutch brake to stop the trans
so you can put it in gear, most semi
truck trans have no syncros to help
speed up or slow down the gears so
the driver has to do it with the engine
RPM before slipping into the next gear.
