Fog Lights

Fog Lights

Were do you plug in your fog lights? Directly to the battery or to the fuse block? I don't really see any extra spaces on my fuse block in my sidekick.  How do you have yours connected up.

Best to use a relay use a power wire fused 18" from the battery or less. Then a remote wire from a switched from ur fuse box to ur own switch

That way when u  turn the ign off they will turn off.

If you buy a relay from a jobber like Advance the wiring diagram comes with the relay, too.

Yea, the kits I was looking at came with a relay. I didn't think about that. having them turn off with the truck. Would suck to have a dead battery.

where were you going to mount them? i just put in a set of hallogens right in between the rad and the front fender support , behind the grill. you cant see them and they are protected but when they come on they light up awesome!! there is a lot of room in that spot for different styles. just a thought.

well on the 92 kick 4 door. i got two choices. One is in the oval inlet on the front of the truck. I have seen them in there before and they look good. Providing I get the small oval lights. The next place and not really a better idea. There is two predrilled holes in the frame in the front. They don't look like tow hitch holes or anything usefull. So I assume it might have been were stock fog lights might have been mounted. Though I would question how they would do off-road. I think they would be high enough up not to matter.  If I get the nice metal ones that say bend back and not break like some.

This may sound kind of redneck (hell, it IS kind of redneck...lol) but I simply used two metal hose clamps around the bracket of each light to hold them to the frame tube under the front bumper.  They've been there for over a year with no problems.  Say what you will, but it works!! :)

I probably would have used scotch locks. you know those plastic lock ties or whatever I could have found laying around.
