87 samurai sensor light?
« on: February 28, 2009, 02:54:32 PM »
The light on the dash that blinks SENSOR-- what does this mean? Coolant gauge works so I don't think it's the coolant sensor but the sensor had the wires broken so I resoldered them on but it didn't fix the problem.

o2 Sensor maybe? It idles at about 1600 rpms and has a miss. I checked everything that I can see and need a wiring diagram or some help. I checked the timing and it is at 8* with everything hooked up OEM. Can someone tell me how to check timing-- do I need to cap off vacuum hoses on distributor, etc.

I did find one vacuum hose with a crack and replaced that but it didn't help. I can drive it fine it just sounds like crap at idle.

Try resetting the reset switch under your dash on the left side of your steering column.

Ya theres a tiny switch under dash near column. i thought was on the right, but your find it then just turn it off. Its just a maintenance reminder when the cluster clicks x-amount.
