First wheeling trip in the Tracker (I am amazed!)
« on: January 28, 2006, 06:14:44 PM »
Well, I went to Haspin Acres in Indiana today.. Fat Boys Jeep Club get together..

My first real wheeling trip in the Tracky..   I didn't even get a chance to put the mini-spool in..

SO, I was open front and rear..  Still wanted to go, and everyone assured me they would pull me when I needed it..

The catch is.. I DIDN'T NEED IT!!    Let me tell you, the little truck AMAZED a LOT of jeep guys!!

I went EVERYWHERE they did.. mostly trail riding, no real mud, but we had some narrow, tricky hills and nice climbs.. all in all a GREAT day!

I had a bunch of SUPER nice Jeeps with me, and they were getting pissed, as they had to pull each other through a few obstacles, but NOT ONCE did I have to have help.. well.... except once when I tried a mud pit that I KNEW I couldn't go through... I did have to be winched back.. but noone else made it through that pit either... LOL..

I didn't get any action shots, as I was driving, I did get some parked shots..

My favorit is the full caged Willys with a small block in it.. the Blue one.. sitting next to me here.

He is one of my best friends.. and he was simply amazed that I could go where I went, he is locked front and rear, and has 18 inch Baja Claws...  I even went a few places he couldn't fit, as he was too wide..

Let me tell you, I am MORE than impressed with these little zuks..  FULLY open diffs, and I am taking this baby down quad trails that other vehicles just wouldn't fit.. it was GREAT to out wheel 30,000 dollar rigs... LOL... I can't imagine where this thing will go when I finally get it locked up.. I do think I will save up and get some air lockers though.. as a LOT of my manueverability in the tight spots came from the open diffs... it just turns on a dime..

OK,  I have gone on long enough.. but suffice it to say, this is my FIRST Trackkick/Zuk... but it is definately NOT my last one.. I can't wait to build a full cage tube buggy out of one..

Capable is an understatement.. these may be the PERFECT trail buggys ever made.. Sure, these big jeeps can out rock crawl me, and out mud me.. but out on the trails, (which is where I ride)  we are on equal ground, and the advantage goes to the tiny, light, capable Zuks!!

here is a link to the shots I DID manage to get..

Cool pics!

I really like the paint job......nothing like having a vehicle that can do 95% of the trails for 10% of the cost.......

 ;)

Yup, I have left more then a few jeeps guys with their mouths gapping, along with quite a few others. It's a good feeling.  8)
