There was something weird about the German model because of a requirement that both rear wheels lock when the e-brake is on, but I can't remember what they did...

German model had a cable operated locker hooked up to the e-brake. The tcase e-brake was also fitted to the (narrow axle) SJ413 which I believe was sold in the US under the Samurai name.

It locks the to the front as well.

Ah! That's right, the front output shaft turns with the rear - hence needing to disconnect rear drive shaft when flat towing. Totally forgot about that  ::)
