First off I wanted to say hi. I have a 1990 tracker and love it. This is my daily driver. I have been on here for 30 minutes and learned so much. I am getting ready to install a set of 1.5" spacers and do the strut tower flip and the longer shocks. I want to be able to put a set of meaty tires on it. I was wondering 2 or 3 inch body lift what does everyone recomend. Will this 1.5 and 2 inch body be enough for 31 or do I need the 3". Thanks for your help.

I was running 30x9.50 tires on my 1996 Tracker with no lift. The only problem I had up front was contact with the frame at full turn left, or right (would need a widening, not lift to correct). I just reset my wheel stops, problem solved (sacrificing turning radius a bit). In the rear I would have a tire rub the inner wheel wells when encountering bumps with rear passengers. This was the main reason I decided to do a body lift. I went with a 3". No tire rub at full compresion of suspension front, or rear sense. The other advantage to the 3" body lift is being able to raise the fuel tank, getting that puppy up out of harms way and increasing departure angle considerably. The body lift is pretty straight forward. Mine was purchased from Cal-Mini. Other than reworking the body to frame mounts, only had to relocate the left front brake line where it passes through the inner fender (drill new hole, move the fitting down). The only headache was fabricating an extension for the steering. This was not included in the kit, though instructions on how to fab it were. I have seen another vendor who sells this piece, but I do not recall which one it is.

I want to put a set of 33 or 31 inch boggers on this little truck. I don't do any hardcore off roading but I live in the county on a cow path road. Durring the winter like now there is always 6inches of snow on the roads. Plus when deer season comes around I want to be able to go into my woods to pick up the deer.

Choose a swamper with a center tread like TSL radial or Trexus MT.

The TSL is a old school tire and is probably a little heavy for our little trucks.

The Trexus MT is a good light weight (good thing) Tire with a tread which works extremely well. Some pro rock crawlers are using this tire, they are tame on the street and have lots of sipping so it works good on snow and ice.

Welcome. Just put some 31's on it. You'll be able to go anywhere the larger vehicles need 33's or 35's to go.

I luv my BOGGERS they tear through everything!!  They are damn heavy and zap some HP!!  The Truxus they mentioned are a dang good tire in most conditions i had, and where like iron!!!  If you like the look of big chunks flying by the windows then BOGGERS are your tires!! >:D >:D

Skip the body lift  go with 1.5" coils spacers with 30x 9.5s do the strut mount flip, crown vic shocks, pound the rear fender wells with a hammer  to smooth them out and see if you can't take anything that passes for a road or trail. That's how I run.  I took off the skid plate, I never bottom out. I can go anywhere most can. I dust rookie quadders and anyone with a big pickup or Jeep wagon, the only people who keep up with me are modified Wrangler Jeeps and bad ass quadders. Except I get stereo, climate control, and no dust to breathe. My next "armour" will be rocker skids from Trail Tough. I'm more worried about my rockers than anything.

   30" tires are about the maximum I would run on a stock drivetrain. I believe to go bigger I would have to change gear ratio, via transfer case or differentials. Yes, we already have gear reduction available by choosing low range. This is fine for wheeling and running in the backwoods, but I use mine as a daily driver also. I feel that if I went any bigger on tires that I would no longer have 5th gear as an option. The 1.6 litre 16-valve is only putting out 90 horsepower as built by Suzuki. What power and torque you do get out of these engines occurs at higher RPM. The power band on these engines is rather high. There is a point where the larger tire will limit your ability to let this little motor rev.

   These are a few things to consider, if you truly have your heart set on those 33" tires. I don't think you will be happy with just the lift alone, whether it be body or suspension.

With 31's you have to put in 5.83's to get the gearing back to stock. Then to go to 33's will again move the truck away from optimun gearing. I have the 5.83's in lil suzy and I am considering a switch from the 5 speed to a 3 speed auto just so I can get more gearing for the 33's

So a set of 30x9.5 will fit with the spacer. I have 205 70 15 on it right now what size stock do they have or are these they look awefull small.

I know my 96 came with 205/75 15, and I'm pretty sure that's the size they come stock with, except for the sport.

I run 31-11.5-16 Super Swampers on my 97 Sport with 2" coil spacers and the Masterkit1 3" body lift. The body lift is a pretty good one and has all the needed parts.
