possible engine swap for a sammy?
« on: February 11, 2007, 08:30:46 PM »
ok, so my engine is basicly done (stock 1.3) and i'm looking to toss in a replacement. After some great suggestions from some friends, the G16A (1.6liter 8v) seems like my best bet for price, performance, and easy of parts, but here's my question, and i'm hoping someone's researched it.  I'm thinking about possibly a 1.6Liter honda or toyota engine just because it seems easier and cheaper to find those engines. how easily will a sammy tranny bolt upto either of these? any help with this is appriciated, thanks guys.

Honda would be difficult, the engines runs 'backwards'.

Seen a sammy with a mr2 motor I believe it was a 1.6 hemi head it was very sweet they put out a bunch of hp if you go to a 22r or older 20r then you have a little more work to make it fit either by doing a body lift or by cutting the floor board out to make it easier I opted for the ladder.
when in doubt gas it!!
