Hello,
I have a 1995 Suzuki Sidekick JX Limited with a 5 speed manual 4x4

What is the diference between a JX and JX Limited?

I have had my car for about 3 years and to this day I have no idea what the difference is, other than a sticker that says Limited on both sides of my car.

By the way, I had posted about a rattle or ticking in my car and thanks to this Forum (Zukiworld) my problem was solved in about 2 days with the help of fellow Zukiworld members. Thanks for all the help.

John

I have a 92 sidekick 4 door limited and the differences in it from a "regular" trackick is.......

leather seats
"limited" instead of "suzuki" on the steering wheel
"limited" stickers on the side
different striping on the side
the floormats say "limited"
chrome wheels

hard spare tire cover....I forgot about this before
metallic paint....I forgot about this too

You know whats funny, is that I dont have any of the things that you wrote...

...leather seats
"limited" instead of "suzuki" on the steering wheel
"limited" stickers on the side               (except for the stickers)
different striping in the side
the floormats say "limited"
chrome wheels

Maybe someone slapped on some JX Limited stickers on my Sidekick...

I'm not calling that noise "solved" until you actually tell us it's gone, but generally speaking, wherever and whatever it is, the folks on this site have been there and done it....wrong probably....and then done it again right (probably..).

....plus the chrome wheels (which I think you could possibly get as options on other trackicks that did not have the "limited" package).  But yeah, pretty much.

I think I have the window sticker around here that lists how much the limited option was...seems like it was more than what I paid for the whole sidekick a couple of years ago. :-X

edit.....
Holy sh!t.....I just found the window sticker......
the limited package was $2500 (less a $1000 special discount.....so $1500 total)......so yeah, I paid waaay less than even the $1500 net limited edition package price for the whole sidekick when I bought it.
The Limited Edition Package included....
exclusive midnight black metallic paint
leather seats
nine hole chrome wheels
exclusive gold graphics
hard spare tire case with gold lettering (I forgot I took that off)
gold body emblems
gold stitched floor mats

MSRP including the limited edition package was $15,509.00
The standard equipment was......
1590cc 4cyl. 16V SOHC engine
5 speed manual tranny
EFI
4wd with high/low range
auto hubs
4wd indicator lamp
tach
rear window defogger
rear window wiper/washer
electric side mirrors
am/fm/cassette w/4 speakers
PS
PW and PL
tilt steering
remote fuel lid door release
205/75-15 white letter radial tires
clearcoat paint
RWAL
rear dooor child lock systems

Could have.  I see people all the time that put stickers/emblems on their vehicles that are not "accurate".  Kinda stupid, if you ask me. ::)

If yours is a 2 door, it could have a "different" limited package than what the 4 doors had.......but if you don't see anything obviously "different" from any other regular trackicks then I would say someone just slapped some stickers on.

Not to mention the dealers themselves, particularly on entry-level vehicles.  Had a neighbor once who was just nuts about his Z-26 (yes, you read that right) Cavalier, which he was dead certain was much quicker than other 4-cyl. Cavaliers....which his fancy "Z-26" stickered machine was.  Completely base model + sunroof + "Z-26" stickers.  Awesome.

If it keeps working, the dealers will keep doing it.

It is a 4 door Sidekick...

How can I be sure what I have. I looked on the side of the door and it is a Canada version, if that means anything.

I guess you would have to find out what the "limited" package added for that particuliar year.  I would think it would be somewhat the same from year to year.....but then again, maybe not.  Like I said before, if you don't see anything out of the ordinary on it compared to other trackicks.....I would say it is just a decal someone stuck on.

I don't know that where it was made would make any difference......trackicks were made in either canada or japan.

I purchased the car 3 years ago from my Aunt and she was the original owner from 1995. She is not the type of person that would go out of her way to buy and Limited Sticker and slap it on.

When my Aunt comes back from vacation, I'll ask her if she had any paper work from 1995. Worth a try anyways...

I wish I knew... Maybe I will just take off the sticker and forget about it... hahaha

If nothing else, post some pics of it (interior and exterior).....maybe someone will see something that is not "standard" on it and can give you some insight.
