Just finished installing a 1.6 16v MultiPort FI in my Sammy and don't know how high I can rev it without damage. What does factory tach show as redline with one of these engines?

I don't think you could hurt one of them, the factory limiter is set at about 6500 rpms,   the ecm holds it back, just use a good oil filter like wix or napa gold and a good brand of oil and not to thick you should be ok!

with my 1.6 16 v in my crashed 4 doors the cut off stop at 6800 rpm.

Thanks for info, I guess I don't have to worry much if the ECM limits the RPM.

I installed all new seals so I could use Mobile 1, I started with 15-50, but am thinking that I should use a lighter grade. Also using Mobile 1 oil filter.

Can't believe how much more power this engine puts out! I guess the running gear will start breaking now.

I think the weakest parts would be the moter mounts (driver side), the x-fer case mounts and arms if stock, and the front axel's, did you got to a better clutch disk? that thing takes a real beating, I would have broken stuff if it wasn't for it slipping a little bit.

Put in a new Centerforce DF clutch. Works very well. Have new motormounts & tranny mount. Will the front axel break under pure torque, or if I allow it to bounce & spin/grab/spin/grab?

re. front , I would say if you have a locker in the front with over 31" tires  and they grabed something they would snap, I have 31" tsl's with an open front with about 4k on the 16 valve no probs as of yet, but most of it off road around the house here and out back in the woods snow, deep snow, and mud, but the rig is lite no extras on it yet! I have been winched out about six times and had the strap about the same so it has been stuck up to the frame several times and only the clutch slips a little when it gets hot from trying to get unstuck( too lazy to use the shovel it has too many moving parts for me )but the shovel does seem to work to get it out if i'm by myself where there are no heeps to make a mess of things.
