March 2008 I got a 4door with a bad engine. Here's the build so far.

This is what I started with, not in bad nick for a -92 but rusty rockers, and the engine had no head.

The plan was a 2" lift and 30" ATs to use as a DD, as I've got a lifted SJ413 as a play thing.

Got a good engine out of a -96 I bought a year earlier but was in to bad of condition to run.

Fitted polyspacers front and rear, longer rear shocks and flipped the strut mounts.

Got it inspected and started to DD it and was very happy with it.

Did some light wheeling last summer and damaged my rockers bad, and this was when the build took off again.

Bought an 2" body lift

Oh my what a pain it is to do a body lift... broke off about all of the bolts holding the bumpers...

2" body lift is on, and looks good, I don't like large body lift where you can se a big gap, but this looks ok.

Did some more wheeling as my SJ was out of comisson. This time my rockers suvived, but I dragged the fram on about every rock there were...

More lift was needed, so I got some cheap car springs at a local parts store.

New rear springs are in.

Front strut spacers.

I kept the spacers in the front and added longer springs.

Now it started to look "right", but the tires looked a bit small now  >:(

Fitted calminis 1" diff drop brackets from the 2" calmini kit that was on my other Vitara.

Did some fender trimming up front so I could fit my 31" tires from my SJ

Got the 31" tires (almost 32" tall) on and did some offroading.

And this is how she looks at the moment. Next plans are a warn8000 winch, dual ARB lockers, and mabye dual cases with a sammy case.
