My new rear bumper and rear stinger
« on: August 28, 2008, 08:33:31 PM »
I started out with a piece of 4x2 steel and welded on a piece of 1x2 to get the height that I was looking for. I then used some more of the 4x2 and made the corners to fit. What do you guys think?

    Kevin

Ps I also raised the gas tank while I was there. Granted I only have a 2" body lift so I did it a little differnt.

The Jonny Joints went on the rear trailing arms, I had already put a jonny joint in the upper link awhile ago and I like how it works so I decided to use them on all the rear links. Oh and this is in the works for my spare tire.

Any photo's of this work?  I have been considering changing to a four link, using stock forward mounts.  So I am very interested in the results of your work.

Nice work on the bumper.  I look forward to your spare tire mount also.  I made a similar bumper (no body lift), and currently have the spare back on the door (not very convient).

Hey, I like the idea of a stinger type tire bracket, What do you think about making brackets that fit above the tail lights. Another manifacture utalizes this point for roof rack support. why not? any thoughts?

My only problem with this is when you hit something your body is going to buckle.  If you added some extra bracing on the back side that went to an internal roll bar it would probably work though.
