Engine compartment
sammy after the engine was installed.
we still need a few other parts before I can drive it, the exhaust manifold has a small crack in it and you cant weld it because it cast iron. Also part of the alternator bracket and the main pulley are missing I should eventually get the dust cover that goes between the engine and transmission too.
The motor went in without a hitch we were able to attach all the hoses and wires in about 30 minutes.
The only problem we had was with the fuel delivery, it would start up on the gas we had in the carburetor ,but once that ran out it died. At first we thought it might be the pump, but after disconnecting the fuel filter and dipping the line in a cup of gas we figured it must be the filter so we put a new one in (dont know why we didnt do that in the first place). After the pump got a little suction built up the samurai the samurai started up and kept on running. Ill get some pictures of some stock wheeling soon hopefully and I hope to start modifying in the near future as well.
