I was wondering what the effects will be if I install lockers in my sami. This is a daily driver and i'm hoping to do the shackle reverse kit, lockers front and rear, new carb and exhaust and run 29.5" tires. It needs to be real streetable, yet I want to be able to go places
Any other suggestions would be great.

You've basically described project GI Jane which is what my wife drives back and forth to work every day 25 mile round trip. Works good last long time....

If you're not going any bigger than a 30" tire you might
consider a posi in the rear diff and a locker in front.I
used to run that set-up and was happy with it.

 The biggest thing that you have to take into consideration fot the front locker, is you have to beef the birfs, either by a ring, better birfs, or better heat treating (longfields). Other than that, all you have to remember is that a locker in the front effects the steering, noticably.

With bigger tires, I'd agree but he's only considering 29.5 inch tires. It would be damn near imposible to break any of the axle components with that size tire even locked.

25 miles, eh?  Round trip.  Man, am I in the wrong town.  My average day is 75 miles... each way.

I had a tintop with rear spooled 29" swampers.  Bunny hopped all day and couldn't break a thing.

I'm always surprised of the durability of th OEM stuff.  I attributed 90% of it to the light weight of the Sammy.  Lighter the better, IMHO.

As always, thanks for everyone's input. I plan to start ordering parts next week . Hope to atleast have the shackle kit by Moab...gotta start somewhere.
