Figured I would wait until we finished it.

Be at the shop today working on the car if anybody is bored(this is Bigzook)

We got quite a bit done today. Made the mount for the fuel cell,started on the rear cage redo, and some other mods.
Started by removing the stock tank.

We wanted to sink the cell down in the floor as much as possible so the cross member had to go.


We then cut a hole in the floor to sink the cell down.


After some measuring and contemplation we realized that the cell was about 2.5" too long to sink completely into the floor. The rear end would hit it on full compression. So after all the figuring, we could only sink it down about an inch. Oh well the hole was cut so we were gonna get that inch.
 
Bob came up with a mounting idea that incorporated a skid plate and helped brace the floor back up. Here is the frame.



We then skinned it with some sheet.



Here is the cell set in its mount. We are making some straps to wrap over the top of it and bolt to the frame underneath.



Here is a side shot of the new rear cage lines.

I will be down at the shop all day again tomorrow if you guys get bored. Got to get her running again.

No pics today but got the battery relocated to the back, Fuel pump installed, and the fuel lines ran. Had to fire her back up to build my spirits.

  AND MADE THE SHOP SMELL FOR AWHILE , BUT IT COME TO THE POINT THAT I GET BACK TO WORK ON IT. 

Had a really fun relaxing weekend testing out the car. I'd say it does pretty good so far.

  sweet video ! did it have any issues and do we need to modify any thing ?

The rear worked great, need different front springs and those damn shocks to come in. Other than that just finish those few things on the list. Which weekends are you available?
