Built a snowplow for the Sammy on the cheap

We had quite a good snowfall here and I was getting stuck in my driveway with my Jetta. I went out in my scap pile and found two old towbars and a 45 gallon drum. I wanted to do it as cheap as possible. I took the hitches of both tow bars, I had to narrow the one 3" to fit on the outside of my pushbar. It mounts to the Sammy with 2 3/4" bolts so it can pivot up. They were already on the towbar and are drilled for cotterpins. I cut the old drum into two 24" long sections from the top to bottom. The plow ends up being 69" wide. I welded 4 sections of 3x1/8 flat iron on the back side of the barrel sections to stiffen it up a bit and then an angle iron over it all to strengthen it up more. On the top I welded on a thin wall 1" square tube, I will cover it with an angle iron later to cover up the rough edge of the drum sections. On the bottom I used a 3" X 3/16" agle iron and a 2" 1/4" flat iron on the front for the cutting edge. I welded the one towbar to the blade and then connected the two towbars together and gussetted it with a plate underneath. The tube I welded on for the lift arm is too thin and bend just past it's gusset so I will pick up some heavier tube and replace it. My winch and a snatch block lift the plow up and down. I tried it out last night in some super heavy wet snow and nothing other than the lift tube bent so it was a success. It works great. I have a couple angle irons tacked on to hold the blade but I bought some springs so I can make the blade able to pivot forward if I snag something with it.
