Your still not strapping that front diff down? Are you swapping to a steel one?

I know...I know... :-[. I just didn't have the brace when I did the swap nor have had the time to fab anything.

:o      Come on man, with everything you've fabbed already, a diff brace should be a no brainer.  Took me about an hour and a half to make mine, and it bolts to both sides.
The usual stuff, and 2nd generation Air to liquid intercooled TURBOCHARGER

I was lucky to have the 3 hours to spend on it that I did. Life has been hell latley..... :-\. I will put it on the list with the corbeaus. ;)

It's nice to have 4 wheel drive again! and actually use it a bit. also tested out the billy's off road and love them more!

here's a couple pics of the kick on the new access road I built to get to my next home build project. This is where my dream home will be going, over looking the river with utter silence and serenity.

When are you adding the rocks to the driveway?  The 2-4' ones to help manage run-off.  :D

uh oh.....hit page two it must be time to work on the Audikick! Honkey2.0 came down to finish his 4door 2.0 conversion (more too come I reckon). so I figured if I was busy on my own project he wouldn't bother me for help. :P

anyways here's the latest.

BTW I have almost 8K miles on the Audikick and its kicking a$$. I am getting 18.5-21.5 mpg, can pull 80 in 3rd,90 in 4Th and haven't really gone much faster than that in 5Th (maybe just over 100),but then it feels like a 2,000 dollar rig with a 10,000 dollar motor.

I like the use of an angle finder on the original seat to get an appropriate 'angle of the dangle'.

it helps. I wanted the seats just a bit higher than stock and they ended up being 2cm higher witch feels like alot more than that. I may lower them 1cm yet.

thanks, I am getting it closer to what I want slow but sure. I have a heater switch but no good Ign./combo switches. I did find a hole in the wall wrecking yard with a bunch of samurai/kick stuff though. I will be going back to pilfer soon.

Jluck,
I will have to come get that if you want to part with it!
Nice score on the wrecking yard, I never seem to find places like that.

Did YOU put in that "Silt Fence" ?!!  Looks GOOD for show, but you are really suppose to bury the bottom edge in the soil.
A Ditch Witch makes it easier. (Available at any Rent a Center) Also be careful with that mini excavator on grades, bad things happen fast. (Pic and end of post)

Glad your are getting to build your New Place !!  I build my Shop First; 32 x 88; half w/ floor heat. Started 2002, finished---finished 2004 as I did the Pay as You Go Plan. Did all the work my self except the original excavation. ( I did try to route a
CAT 345 from work passed my place for a weekend.  Couldn't wait any longer I had to beat the frost in Nov. 2002)

Next I plan to remodel the House after a couple more pipeline jobs. (Again Pay as You Go Plan), but this time I will hire it out!
I don't think I can sleep in my shop on army cots for 2 years !!

Oh Oh nice work on your Audi Project, I have been look'n in every now & again to see how it's been coming along.

Yea I did put in the silt fence and we rocked the bottom edges anywhere there was a chance of dirt getting to it.and yea its also to keep lookie loos happy.also I have learned the limits of equipment over the years and am pretty cautious these days.although rental shop equipment sure is.easy to push past the limits. ;)
This project might get put off for a while,It's hard to justify new construction in a poor economic market and I won't be borrowing money to build.so I have to work within the budget that's constantly looking more bleak.time to look at short sales and forclosures.my brother's a contractor also which hopefully will lead to a joint venture family retreat cabin.
